Sponsored by LAFCU, The February Lansing Regional Chamber Economic Club will be held on Feb. 1 from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Kellogg Hotel & Conference Center.
On Sept. 4, 1957, nine black students enrolled at the formerly all-white Central High School in Little Rock, Arkansas. Their enrollment in the school was made possible because of the landmark Supreme Court ruling Brown v. Board of Education declaring segregation in public schools unconstitutional The MLK Commission is highlighting the 65th anniversary of the Little Rock Nine, which includes Ernest Green. During the February Lansing Economic Club, Mr. Green will discuss the Little Rock Nine's importance in the continued fight for civil rights and justice in the United States. Mr. Green graduated from Michigan State University with a B.A. in 1962 and a M.A. in 1964.
