Supervision Responsibility: Supervises volunteer Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)
Travel Required: Weekly local travel within the counties with mileage reimbursement
Minimum Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in an advocacy role within court systems
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
Entry-level or project/case management experience (preferred)

The Advocate Supervisor provides management and mentorship to CASA volunteer advocates, ensuring that children and families involved in the CASA program receive sound advocacy and timely permanency planning. The Advocate Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day volunteer supervision, management, skills development, retention, ongoing training, reporting, data management, and court and partner relationships. This role encompasses responsibilities in LMA (Leadership, Management, Accountability), Volunteer Management, Partner Relations, and Data Reporting, ensuring the effective and efficient volunteer management and service to the community.
Required Skills, Knowledge/Personal Qualities:
1. Knowledge and understanding of family dynamics related to child abuse and neglect.
2. Experience with advocating for vulnerable populations with systemic barriers and navigating court systems is preferred.
3. Ability to communicate with, supervise, empower, motivate, and retain volunteers effectively in their roles.
4. Experience with volunteer management or entry-level management.
5. Proven ability to lead, manage, and hold volunteers accountable (LMA framework).
6. The ability to work collaboratively with diverse personalities.
7. Commitment to the goals, mission, and values of CASA for Kids.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Volunteer Management
- Lead, Manage, and hold Accountable (LMA).
- Assign cases, review, and approve monthly data documentation.
- Prepare volunteers to write quarterly court reports.
- Review, edit, and finalize all court reports.
- Prepare volunteers for court testimony.
- Provide feedback through regular, documented weekly contact with volunteers.
- Advise and instruct volunteers regarding the child protective and court system.
- Provide technical assistance, guidance, support, and information to volunteers.
- Complete written evaluations and skills development for all CASA volunteers and provide copies to the Program Manager.
- Resolve casework or interpersonal problems with CASA volunteers and partners.
- Lead volunteer retention and engagement efforts.
- Support in volunteer training and recruitment efforts as appropriate.
Data Management
- Coordinate and retain required documentation on all CASA cases.
- Maintain all required records and documentation for volunteer files.
- Enter monthly data in the Program Database to track volunteers and their casework.
- Initiate orders for the assignment of volunteers to cases.
- Track all incoming cases for referral, waitlist, assignment, and maintain a calendar of court hearings and deadlines
- Maintain collaborative partnerships with caseworkers and court personnel.
- Attend Family Team Meetings, court hearings, and other meetings as needed for the volunteer.
Program Activities
- Attend conferences and workshops for professional development of self and volunteers.
- Assist in community outreach about the mission of the CASA for Kids program.
- Work with other agencies to develop cooperative relationships and resolve problems.
- Ensure resources for children and families are accessible for volunteers.
- The Program Manager may assign other duties.
- Weekly travel as required to provide services, attend training, and attend events.
