Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations (nonprofit experience preferred)
  • Bachelor’s Degree

The Outreach and Development Coordinator works to meet CASA’s budgetary goals to support the mission by actively engaging with the community through individual and strategic relationships. The Coordinator is hands-on and community-facing, ensuring CASA’s outreach and fundraising strategies are successfully implemented and aligned with the organization’s mission and goals. They are responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the outreach team. This position collaborates closely with the Outreach and Development Manager, Outreach Team, Fundraising and Event Committee, and Volunteers. Duties include assisting department leaders in supporting fundraising and outreach plans, general clerical, database management, acknowledgment letters and donor literature, communications and marketing as it pertains to social media and electronic communication, supporting event coordination, and project-based work. Office-based full-time professional office position working across Ingham, Eaton, and Barry County, with expected bi-weekly night/weekend hours.


Marketing, Communications, and Public Relations 

● Develop, schedule, and manage content across CASA’s social media platforms

● Maintain consistent monthly website updates and monitor SEO and Google Ads (grant-funded).

● Design materials for all pertinent CASA events and campaigns using Canva or similar platforms.

● Help prepare donor communications, including thank-you letters, newsletters, and impact reports.

● Develop communication pieces, including branded materials in collaboration with the outreach team 

● Maintain calendars of outreach opportunities and ensure CASA’s presence at key events.

● Support ethical storytelling by developing composite narratives that protect confidentiality

● Maintain consistent brand voice and messaging across platforms and ensure messaging is free of saviorism, stereotypes, or exploitative language or imagery.


Fundraising & Events

● Support corporate sponsorship outreach, donor stewardship activities, and annual appeals.

● Provide logistical support for donor cultivation and fundraising initiatives.

● Manage newsletters, press releases, and storytelling campaigns highlighting CASA’s mission.

● Solicit in-kind donations for the silent and live auction.

● Assist in planning, coordinating, and executing fundraising and awareness events.

● Event volunteer management, including recruiting and maintaining contact before the event.

● Coordinate logistics and communication for annual fundraising events and volunteer recognition.

● Collaborate with staff, sponsors, and vendors to ensure successful event execution.

● Track event performance and participant engagement data.

● Attend Fundraising and Event committee meetings.


Community Outreach & Recruiting

● Support partnership-based outreach efforts at community events

● Represent the organization at community events, meetings, and presentations.

● Share CASA’s mission with diverse audiences to expand awareness.

● Support community visibility by helping plan and execute community events

● Manage volunteer listings on Mission Filled, VolunteerMatch, and other platforms.


Data Management

● Track engagement metrics (social media growth, impressions, newsletter subscribers, website traffic).

● Assist with measuring the effectiveness of outreach and recruitment initiatives

● Maintain donor database data consistently and with attention to detail for all donor and gift entries.

● Manage all database operations, including data entry, gift recording and acknowledgments

● Track sponsorships, donations, and event outcomes in collaboration with the Manager.

● Ensure data accuracy and compliance with privacy and reporting standards.


General Skills

● Excellent written communication skills, including editing, proofreading, and preparing written correspondence and organizational materials. Preferred skills in grant writing or willingness to learn the grant writing system and style. 

● Excellent formal and informal oral communication skills. Engaging and motivating individuals in person, on the phone, and in writing; preparing and delivering individual and small group presentations; executing direct asks; facilitating meetings/executing presentations.

● Demonstrated ability to engage in Strategic thinking related to fundraising, marketing, and outreach to move the organization's mission forward.

● Demonstrated ability to handle donor interest and personal information with tact and sensitivity in a confidential manner.

● Ability to work collaboratively with a strong customer-service orientation with diverse personalities.
